Richard Blume

Chairman, Steel Market Development Institute
Vice President, Commercial Steelmaking Group, Nucor Corporation

Richard Blume serves as Vice President, Commercial, for the Charlotte, NC-based Nucor Corporation's steelmaking group and has commercial responsibility for the Flat and Long Products groups in domestic and international markets. Prior to his current role, Mr. Blume held various positions with increasing responsibility at Nucor, including General Manager, Commercial Steel Group and Director of Sales and Marketing, where he was responsible for the sales and marketing coordination of Nucor’s Flat Products, including sheet and plate. Mr. Blume joined Nucor in 2000 as a sales manager at Nucor’s Crawfordsville, Indiana division. Previously, he spent 22 years with AK Steel Corporation serving in various operating and commercial positions. Mr. Blume holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Miami University, Oxford, OH and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Wright State University, Dayton, OH.

Andrew Connor

Vice President Commercial, ArcelorMittal Dofasco

Andrew was appointed to Vice President, Commercial in 2014 after having held the role of Director of Strategy for ArcelorMittal Americas. He began his career at ArcelorMittal Dofasco in 1985 holding several leadership roles including Director of Customer Service, Director of Quality Systems and Manufacturing Technology, Manager of Customer Service and General Manager of Environment and Energy. Andrew holds a degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from McMaster University.

Thomas J. Gibson

President, Steel Market Development Institute
President and Chief Executive Officer, American Iron and Steel Institute

Before joining AISI in September 2008, Thomas Gibson served as Senior Vice President of Advocacy for the American Chemistry Council (ACC). He previously served as Senior Vice President, Government Affairs for the Portland Cement Association (PCA). Prior to joining PCA in 2004, Mr. Gibson served as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Previously, Mr. Gibson was the Associate Administrator for the EPA’s Office of Policy, Economics and Innovation. Additionally, he worked as Majority Deputy Staff Director and Majority Counsel from 1995-2001 for the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. From 1993-1995, Mr. Gibson served private-sector clients in regulatory and legislative affairs with Don Clay Associates, Inc. He was with the EPA previously for two years as a Congressional Liaison Specialist, and with the Raytheon Company for five years after service in the U.S. Navy from 1979-1985.

Mr. Gibson received his law degree from Georgetown University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He holds a Master of Marine Affairs degree from the University of Rhode Island and a B.S. degree in Naval Architecture from the United States Naval Academy.

Scott Lauschke

Vice President, Sales and Customer Service, AK Steel

Scott Lauschke was named Vice President, Sales and Customer Service in February 2015. In this role, he is responsible for all aspects of global sales, marketing, customer service and commercial strategy.

Mr. Lauschke joined AK Steel in 2015 as Vice President, Sales and Customer Service. Prior to joining AK Steel, he was Vice President and General Manager of AFGlobal Corporation, a manufacturer of engineered products serving oil and gas, power generation, transportation, and industrial markets. He has also served in a variety of sales management, marketing and operations management roles at The Timken Company, Caparo Steel and Republic Engineered Steel.

Mr. Lauschke is on the board of the Steel Market Development Institute, and currently serves as the Chairman for the March of Dimes Signature Chef Auction in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. He has previously served as a catechist, parish pastoral council member, and as a coach for youth basketball and baseball.

Mr. Lauschke graduated from Illinois Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering and holds an MBA in General and Strategic Management.

Jeffrey Moskaluk

Chief Commercial Officer, SSAB Americas

Jeffery Moskaluk started his career in the steel industry in 1984 and joined SSAB (formerly IPSCO) in 1990. During his tenure at SSAB and its predecessors, Mr. Moskaluk held various positions with increasing responsibility in both the Commercial and Operating areas of the company. In 2011, he was named to his current position as Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer, SSAB Americas. Mr. Moskaluk's responsibilities include the area of: sales marketing, communications, sales information and strategy. Mr. Moskaluk has been active in various industry associations including the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the Steel Market Development Institute (SMDI), a business unit of AISI, Metal Service Center Institute (MSCI), Canadian Institute for Steel Construction (CISC), Steel Structures Education Foundation (SSEF), Toronto Steel Buyers and Associates and the Association of Women in the Metal Industry. Mr. Moskaluk graduated from the Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario, with an Honors Bachelor of Arts degree and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.

Daniel Mull

Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, ArcelorMittal

Daniel Mull was named Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Mittal Steel USA, now ArcelorMittal USA, in 2006. Mr. Mull previously served as Vice President, Marketing. He joined the company in 2003 as Director, End User Sales for Ispat Inland Inc. Prior to his position at Ispat Inland, Mr. Mull completed a 30-year career at Bethlehem Steel Corporation, where he held various management positions including Chief Commercial Officer. During his career, Mull has had extensive experience in serving most steel consuming industries, including: automotive, construction, appliance and energy. In addition, his career included time in the oil field distribution business and developing supply-chain relationships with service centers. Mr. Mull previously served as Chairman of the SMDI Board of Directors from April 2009 until June 2015.
